 Kathleen "Kathy" Costello
KCB is co-owned and operated by Kathleen Costello. Kathy has a long and distinguished career in accounting, encompassing all facets of accounting technologies. She started in accounting fresh out of high school and within ten years, she attained the position of CFO for a well respected, international company.
During her tenure with the FDIC as a financial specialist, she was instrumental in the creation and implementation of the accounts payable system, including the preparation of the training manuals.
Kathy has years of experience training analysts and accounting personnel in many Different industries. She has been exposed to and is familiar with a multitude of different Business profiles as they relate to accounting practices. Her experience includes administration of healthcare, 401k, Worker’s comp and bonus trust accounts. As a controller, she was credited with increasing cash flow for her employer by over 25% through her forecasting and marketing analysis expertise.
Kathy has a vast and well rounded knowledge of accounting. She has an easy going nature with a supportive attitude. She is always there with a smile and a word of encouragement.  Matt Kurtz
Matt was a scholarship athlete in college and majored in accounting at Spring Arbor University in Michigan. After college in 2001, he became part owner of a small crane and demolition company in Michigan, where he built on his accounting knowledge as it pertains to small businesses. Upon moving to San Diego in 2006, he worked as an accountant for a telecommunications corporation, where his accounting knowledge became more in-depth and more rounded. Matt worked at a local CPA firm doing corporate and individual income tax preparation, until, in late 2007, Matt joined KCB and became partners with Kathy, Matt has worked hard to build his accounting knowledge.
